Danser de mille feux invites you to an atmosphere of dance orchestrated by Jessica Viau, choreograph, and performed by about thirty citizens alongside professional dancers. Let yourself be rocked by the imperfect immobility of air, a shiver, a breath, a breeze. Let yourself get carried by the movement of the air, clear at times, often troubled, from mist to smoke up to the paradoxical lightness of a tornado.

The performance will be accompanied by works of art realized by talented local artists that will have been inspired by the creation process.

Jessica Viau is studying the interpretation of contemporary dance at Université du Québec in Montréal and at École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (class of 2010). Her first choreographic creations were born within the companies Je suis Julio and Atypique – Le Collectif. Her productions were presented in Québec, in France and in South America. In 2017, she created a solo that she performed at La Maison Symphonique in Montréal. Throughout her career, Jessica danced with several companies: La marche du crabe (Sandy Bessette), Les Imprudanses, Code Universel (Daniel Bélanger), Nébuleuse (Rosie Contant), Danse Carpe Diem (Emmanuel Jouthe). Filled with a desire to share culture, she taught dance and developed choreographic events of cultural mediation. It was notably thanks to her project Écho d’un mot, a dancing literary production, that Jessica received the Prix Jeune Relève at the 28th Grands Prix de la culture des Laurentides. In 2019, she created Danser de mille feux, a largescale outdoor production that combines, within a choreographic process, professional dancers, and citizens.
